At Brunswick Companies, we have always believed in getting involved and giving back to those in our community. Every year, we challenge ourselves to support the charities, events and organizations in our area that seek to build a strong sense of community through volunteering and good deeds.
During the first half of 2014, we have certainly been busy. Here are some of the events and organizations we’ve had the pleasure of working with:
Pep Rally for Kids
Brunswick Companies was proud to be a sponsor for the PEP Rally for Kids event, which took place on May 9, 2014. Founded in 1971, PEP or Positive Education Program works with local school districts to provide support for children with social, emotional, behavioral and/or developmental challenges. Through its various programs and services, PEP supports over 2,500 children and their families.
Chubb Group of Insurance Companies – Bowling Event
There is nothing better than coming together with others in our industry to see who has the best bowling skills in the bunch, while at the same time raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Over the years, advancements in treating this rare blood cancer have nearly tripled the survival rate. Funds from this event will help to support future research efforts and the need for a cure.
Mobile Meals
This organization provides both hot and frozen home delivered meals for home-bound residents in our area who have difficulty preparing meals on their own. Knowing that dietary needs can vary based on health issues or dietary restrictions, Mobile Meals prepares meals with these individual needs in mind. Last year, we paired with Mobile Meals for the United Way Day of Action. This past April, we were happy to once again join forces to pack frozen meals specifically created for those with cardiac and renal issues. We were also happy to help them get caught up on a few light administrative projects.
We’d like to thank each of these organizations for allowing us the opportunity to make a difference in our small little corner of the world and beyond. We hope that by sharing our experiences, we’ll inspire others to get invested in supporting efforts to improve lives in their community. What good deeds will we do next? Keep an eye on the Brunswick Companies blog to find out.
